PiFan announces new director ahead of its upcoming edition in July.
The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), Asia’s largest genre showcase, has appointed Kim Young-bin as its new director.
He replaces Han Sang-joon, who term ended on December 3, 2009.
Kim is currently a professor at Inha University’s School of Arts & Sports in the drama and film department. He began his career in the film industry as an assistant director to Im Kwon-taek. His debut feature, Kim’s War, starred current Minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism Yu In-Chon, when he was still an actor in 1992. His other films include Terrorist and Come To Me.
The 14th edition of PiFan will run July 15 – 25.
