Multiple award-winning Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner is to compose the score for Thomas Vinterberg's highly anticipated science-fiction fable It's All About Love, which is in the final stages of post-production in Copenhagen.
The composer won international acclaim for his work on countryman Krzysztof Kieslowski's Dekalog and Trois Couleurs trilogy, which also won him a number of awards. Preisner has scored only a few US films, preferring to work on Polish film and TV productions instead. In 1997 he won a Silver Bear in Berlin for The Island On Bird Street, which was directed by Denmark's Soren Kragh-Jacobsen.
It's All About Love, which opens domestically in August, is Thomas Vinterberg's first film since his Cannes contender and prize winner Festen (The Celebration) as well as his first in English. The $11m (DKR85m) film stars US actors Joaquin Phoenix and Claire Danes as a young couple fighting for their love and their lives in a near-futuristic world on the verge of collapse. Sold by Trust Film Sales and FilmFour (English-speaking territories) it is by far the most ambitious project for both the writer-director and producers Nimbus Film.
