The film is being directed by first time feature film-makers Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn from a script by James Moran.

Skins and Eden Lake actor Jack O’Connell (a former Screen International Star of Tomorrow) will star in gritty British drama Tower Block, alongside Sheridan Smith who starred in West End musical Legally Blonde.

They will be joined by Russell Tovey (History Boys) and Ralph Brown (Mean Machine).

James Moran, whose previous credits include Severance and UK TV drama Torchwood, has written the script for the film about the repercussions facing residents of Tower Block 31 after they witness the murder of a young teenager.

Shooting starts July 18 on location around East London, with James Harris, Mark Lane and Thompson producing Tower Block for Surya Productions in assocation with The Tea Shop and Film Company.

Simon Crowe’s SC Films International is handling international sales on the film.
