Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy’s Gary Sanchez Productions and its Funny or Die Films label will co-produce the film. 2929’s sister company Magnolia Pictures has acquired US rights.

Shooting is underway in Los Angeles and Palm Springs on the feature directorial debut from Cartoon Network regulars Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim.

Heidecker and Wareheim will write, direct and star in the comedy. They are known for five seasons of Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, which aired on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The producers plan to include celebrity cameos alongside regular characters from Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

“We are very excited to be a part of this very expensive film,” Heidecker said in a press release. “We are professional boys and we’ll use the money wisely,” Wareheim added.
