Deacon will play a professional footballer in the film, which starts shooting in London on July 19.

Adam Deacon, Nichola Burley and David Ajala have joined the cast of urban thriller Payback Season, which starts shooting in London July 19.

Written and directed by music executive and co-founder of Pure Film Productions Danny Donnelly, the film production arm of record label Pure Music, the film centres around a young man (Deacon) who struggles to balance his life as a professional footballer with his background on a council estate.

The film also stars Anna Popplewell, Leo Gregory and Nina Young.

John Adams of Angry Badger Pictures will produce alongside Pure Film Productions.
