French star Audrey Tautou will star opposite rising Belgian actor François Damiens (Heartbreaker) in Delicacy (La délicatesse).

The romantic comedy is an adaptation of David Foenkinos bestseller, La délicatesse, which has already been published in 16 countries. It follows the destiny of a charming young widow, who kisses one of her colleagues. For her, it’s only a passing fancy. For him, it’s a revolution…

La Délicatesse will be produced by Marc-Antoine Robert and Xavier Rigault (2.4.7. Films), directed by David Foenkinos himself with his brother, screenwriter/casting director Stéphane Foenkinos. The cast also features Bruno Todeschini and Joséphine de Meaux.

Principal photography is scheduled to start March 7, in Paris and surrounding areas for 8 weeks. StudioCanal, France 2 Cinéma, Canal+, CinéCinéma and a collective investment scheme, La banque postale, will finance this €6.8m.

The release is scheduled for the first half of 2012.
