Author Michael Scott will adapt his novel in anticipation of an early 2013 production start in Australia and New Zealand.

The Alchemyst is the first in the six-part series The Secrets Of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel about a Frenchman born in the 14th century who reputedly became immortal.

AMPCO head Mario Andreacchio and Konstantin Thoeren will produce. Former Imagenation Abu Dhabi COO Stefan Brunner is packaging the project and serves as executive producer alongside Scott and Barry Krost.

Lawless Entertainment CEO Cathy Malatesta brokered the deal and also serves on the executive producer roster.

Series finale The Enchantress was published on May 22.
