CBS Films plans to produce Jason Robert Brown’s stage musical 13 to the big screen.

Bert V Royal adapts the musical about a 13-year-old boy from New York who relocates to small-town Indiana and concocts an ill-judged plan to make friends.

Laurence Mark is producing and recently served in that role on CBS Films’ Last Vegas. Mark also produced Dreamgirls and Julie & Julia.

Bob Boyett, who produced 13 on stage, is also producing, and David Blackman serves as executive producer.  

Vice-president of production Mark Ross and creative executive Winnie Kemp are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
