Production will start in early 2012.
Content Film has acquired worldwide rights to Mike Figgis’ Suspension of Disbelief.
Figgis wrote and will direct the “erotic psychological thriller.” Blurring lines between fiction and reality, the story is about a screenwriter/literature professor who becomes implicated in the murder of a mysterious young French woman.
The cast will be announced in coming weeks, and the film will shoot in early 2012.
Vito Di Rosa will produce, with Future Films’ Carola Ash as executive producer.
Content’s Jamie Carmichael said: “I had the great pleasure of working with Mike on Leaving Las Vegas and we responded so strongly to the script of Suspension of Disbelief that we just had to be involved. Mike has an extraordinary eye for material and is one of the UK’s great directing talents. We feel this project has something very special indeed.”
Content will be selling the film at the forthcoming AFM.
