Todd Field has set up his next film Beautiful Ruins with Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson’s Cross Creek Pictures and Patrick Milling Smith and Brian Carmody’s Smuggler Films.
Field, whose credits include Little Children and In The Bedroom, will adapt Jess Walter’s bestseller of the same name with the author and will produce through Standard Film Company alongside Oliver [pictured], Thompson, Milling Smith and Carmody. Adam Kassan will oversee production for Cross Creek.
Beautiful Ruins takes place in the early 1960s off the Ligurian Coast as the glamour of Rome impacts on the lives of three characters.
Cross Creek has a three-year distribution deal with Universal covering a minimum of six films and has a deal with Exclusive Media to collaborate on at least two films a year. It was not clear at time of writing whether Universal or Exclusive Media will be involved on Beautiful Ruins.
