Idris Elba [pictured] will be one of the producers of new UK feature One Square Mile.

Michael Caton-Jones (Shooting Dogs, The Jackal, Rob Roy) will direct the film, which will shoot in London at the end of the year.

The other producesr are Ros Hubbard (The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman), Laurie Borg (Made In Dagenham) and Leon F. Butler.

Butler has also written the original drama script, about four people with four extraordinary storise who live within one square mile of each other.

Elba, star of TV hits Luther and The Wire, also stars in hotly anticipated biopic feature Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
