She will star alongside Viola Davis, Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert, in the Alcon Entertainment project.

Emma Thompson is set to join the cast of supernatural love story Beautiful Creatures, based on the first in the series of New York Times best selling novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

Thompson will be joining Viola Davis, Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert. Richard LaGravenese will direct from his adaptation.

Alcon, which has film rights to all three books in the series is looking at Beautiful Creatures to kick off a possible franchise at Warner Bros.

Filming will begin in April in and around New Orleans.
