The Toronto-based company behind The Whistleblower starring Rachel Weisz and Anton Corbijn’s upcoming Life has started a scripted television department.
First Generation Films (FGF) founder Christina Piovesan (pictured) announced on Wednesday that Peter Sussman and Kathryn From have joined the board.
“We are very excited to expand our global footprint to television and build on our network of creators and partners around the world,” said Piovesan, who will continue as managing director.
“First Generation Films’ focus has always been creating stories with the best creative talent for an international audience. Television has become so cinematic in look and even form – this is a natural evolution creatively, and from a business perspective, it’s essential as television buyers continue to emerge globally.”
FGF’s credits include Alejandro Amenabar’s upcoming Regression.
