Farren Blackburn’s comedy-drama [pictured] will shoot for six weeks and stars Richard Coyle and Sienna Guillory.
Principal photography is underway on BAFTA award-winning director Farren Blackburn’s Dream On.
Adapted by Blackburn from John Richardson’s international bestseller of the same name, Dream On stars Richard Coyle and Sienna Guillory.
The film centres on an average man who embarks on an ambitious and seemingly fool-hardy challenge by laying down a bet (with his last penny) that he can shoot a sub par round of golf within a year.
The £2.5m feature will shoot for six weeks at Elstree Studios and on location across south east England. It is produced by Mark Pegg via his London-based production company Artifice.
Pegg commented: “Farren has written a fantastically heartwarming script based on John’s original book. Richard and Sienna’s performances will have us laughing, crying and eventually cheering.”
“One person’s golf is another person’s record collecting and I think there’s something of us all in John Richardson that I hope will strike a chord with audiences everywhere,” added Blackburn.
To tie in with the UK theatrical release of the film, an associated golf tournament (The Dream On Challenge) will be run by Sirk Acquisitions and Management PLC.
Richardson said: “When I was out there on the course during my challenge, I did dream of it being made into a film, so to be in this situation now with the film actually shooting really is an incredibly special event for me.”
