Sci-fi thriller will be UK filmmaker’s first solo feature film.

With Microsoft recently acquiring his recent feature Pulp, UK filmmaker Adam Hamdy [pictured] has started work on his next feature, Anomaly.

The sci-fi thriller will be Hamdy’s first solo feature and will be produced by Alexander Content and Dare Productions. Alexander Content principal Rick Alexander and UK-based producer Phil Bland will produce. Hamdy will write and direct, as well as executive producing with Syndicate Works principal Pat Nelson.

Anomaly centres on Tom Richards, a young man who wakes up in hospital after a car accident and sets out to discover the truth about what really happened to him.

Alexander commented: “With Anomaly, Adam has created a suspenseful, contained thriller wrapped around a grounded sci-fi concept that organically sets up a scalable, ongoing franchise. I couldn’t be more excited to be going on this ride with him.”

Bland added: “Adam and I had a great experience working together on Pulp and I’m excited to be doing our next film together. Anomaly is a great story, and Adam has a strong vision that will enable us to deliver a compelling film.”

Casting is set to begin shortly with principal photography scheduled to begin in Sept 2013. Financing has been structured and secured by UK-based Smith and Williamson.
