Swedish producer of 2003 drama Evil named head of production for Sweden’s drama arm of Nice Group.
Producer Hans Lonnerheden has joined Nice Drama, the Swedish drama arm of the Nordic independent production alliance Nice Group, as head of production.
Lonnerheden has produced more than 30 features and television series, including Evil — nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film — and Brothers: the Return and popular TV mini-series Maria Wern. As co-founder of European Film Bonds (EFB), he has also acted as a completion guarantor for more than 100 productions.
Patrick Nebout, CEO and executive producer of NICE Drama, said: “It’s great to have Hans onboard, especially now that a number of our feature-film and TV projects are nearing production. His role will be to oversee the production structure and the flow of all our drama projects. With his sure creative and commercial instinct, deep experience and impressive track record, Hans is a valuable addition to our team.”
Lonnerheden added: “It’s exciting and challenging to move into a new creative context. Nice Drama is both brave and innovative — and it also has the energy and audacity to succeed in today’s rapidly changing media world. Nice Drama offers me the opportunity to work with the best in film and television drama, and I’m looking forward to grafting my experience on to this young and dynamic team.”
Nice is developing TV film updates of Kristina Ohlsson’s trilogy of best-selling crime novels, Unwanted, The Daisy and Guardian Angels, as well as a feature based on the Swedish best-seller The Centenarian Who Climbed Out The Window And Vanished.
