Errol Morris [pictured] will direct The Unknown Known: The Life And Times Of Donald Rumsfeld. Hanway Films will handle international sales.
RADiUS-TWC will release the film in 2013. Morris said the profile would draw on extensive interview footage and previously unseen material from the former US Defence Secretary’s private archive.
“The Unknown Known: The Life And Times Of Donald Rumsfeld is the story of a remarkable man whose career spans nearly one third of our nation’s history,” Morris said. “I am delighted to partner with The History Channel, Participant and RADiUS in this extraordinary project.”
History Films, RADiUS-TWC and Participant Media present the film and Robert Fernandez and Amanda Branson Gill of Moxie Pictures are producing.
Josh Braun of Submarine brokered all deals with attorneys Sue Bodine of Cowan Debaets Abrahams & Sheppard, Peter Grossman of Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler & Feldman and Participant Media COO Jeff Ivers.
Braun will serve as an executive producer with Nancy Dubuc, Dirk Hoogstra, Julian P Hobbs and Molly Thompson of History Films and Participant Media’s Jeff Skoll and Diane Weyermann.
