Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment and Imagenation Abu Dhabi are teaming up with the China-based company on a slate of English-language films.
Amritraj (pictured) and Angel Wings Entertainment president Ben Ji will manage the venture jointly.
Yee Yeo Chang, who is charged with overseeing development for Hyde Park-Imagenation in Singapore, is tasked with sourcing and developing material. Projects under the deal will be announced later this year.
Angel Wings is a broad-based film company with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. It has invested in and produced such titles as Color Me Love (2010), The Law Of Attraction (2011), Lost In Panic Room (2011) and the upcoming China-France co-production GAMMA.
“Over the last decade Hyde Park has created entertainment and cultural relationships between India/Asia and the West,” Amritraj said. “As the region from the Middle East to China experiences amazing growth, we look forward to continuing our expansion in the region through our AWE partnership.”
Imagenation chairman Mohamed Al Mubarak said: “Building relationships between the Middle East, Hollywood and China has been a priority for us and we look forward to the Hyde Park ImageNation partnership with AWE.”
“For AWE, the collaboration is a significant step forward to facilitate its expansion in overseas market while consolidating the growth of domestic businesses,” Ji added.
