John Davis’ Brentwood-based film and television company Davis Entertainment has extended its production partnership with Twentieth Century Fox for four more years.
The new deal will run from May until May 2014, by which time the partners will have been in business together for two decades.
Davis’ 80-plus productions have earned more than $4bn worldwide and have included I, Robot (pictured), the Dr Dolittle franchise, the Garfield series, and the Predator and Alien Vs Predator films.
Upcoming features include the comedy Marmaduke starring Owen Wilson as the voice of Marmaduke, and the epic fantasy comedy Gulliver’s Travels starring Jack Black, Emily Blunt, Jason Segel and Amanda Peet.
“John and his team have provided some of our most successful films of the past several years,” Fox’ production president Emma Watts said. “They have great taste, an eye for big ideas and the all-important ability to get pictures made.”
“We’ve enjoyed a close and productive partnership with Fox for 16 years and there was never a question about continuing our relationship,” Davis said. “We love working with Tom Rothman, Jim Gianopulos and Emma Watts and look forward to making more movies in the years to come.
