Amazon Falls director Katrin Bowen tells Screen that her next film, Off Course “is about another really close call where my survivor skills kicked in big time.”

Drawing upon a harrowing personal experience as a 20-year-old hostage, the 40-year-old Versace-model-turned writer/director recounts “living on the edge” in Riccione, Italy.

Italy’s Buskin Film is attached to the $3-5 million drama, and Bowen is speaking with potential Canadian co-production partners at TIFF.
