EXCLUSIVE: Charles-Olivier Michaud’s first US film also stars Richard Jenkins.
Kim Basinger has joined the cast of One Square Mile, to mark the first US film by Canada’s Charles-Olivier Michaud (Snow and Ashes).
Josh Campbell and Jeff Van Wie wrote the script.
Basinger will play Claire, the mother of a troubled son (Kelly Blatz) who is at a difficult and violent junction in his life. Richard Jenkins plays the boy’s neighbour and reluctant mentor, and Cam Gigandet plays his older brother. The cast also includes Analeigh Tipton and Rhys Coiro.
One Square Mile is a Phoenix Rising Motion Pictures project produced by Howard Burd and Micah Sparks, and Deborah Moore, formerly of New Line.
Mark DeSalle and Jennifer Reibman are producers and Dane Lillegard, who works with Moore at Inner Primary Entertainment, is co-producer.
Meyers Media Group’s Lawrence Meyers and Bobby Meyers are handling international sales.
The film starts shooting later this month on location Seattle; the film will use Washington State’s film rebate.
