Cate Blanchett, Mia Wasikowska [pictured] to make their directorial debuts alongside directors such as Tony Ayres, Justin Kurzel.

LevelK will handle international sales for the screen adaptation of Tim Winton’s bestselling short story collection The Turning.

The Australian omnibus project will see Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska making their directorial debuts. There will also be 15 other segments from the likes of Benedict Andrews, Jonathan auf der Heide, Tony Ayres, Shaun Gladwell, Rhys Graham, and Justin Kurzel. The stories will link and overlap.

Robert Connolly of Arenamedia is producing, and the project is backed by Screen Australia. Footprint Films/Madman Entertainment will release in Australia in spring 2013.
