Liam Neeson has joined the all-star voice cast on Canadian animator ToonBox Entertainment and South Korea-based Redrover Co’s animation comedy The Nut Job.
The cast includes Katherine Heigl, Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon and comedian Jeff Dunham.
Peter Lepeniotis directs the story based on the 2005 award-winning comedy short Surly Squirrel by Disney animation veteran Lepeniotis.
The Nut Job marks ToonBox’s first feature with Korean partner Redrover in association with US sales agent Gulfstream Pictures.
Redrover and its partners are fully financing the project about a squirrel who plans a nut heist and tumbles into more trouble than he bargained for. The film is currently in production with plans for a 2013 release.
Thom Chapman and Graham Moloy produce. Daniel Woo, Hong Kim, Mike Karz and Tom Yoon serve as executive producers with Gulfstream.
