The screenplay by David Klass and Vera Blasi is based on a true story and follows events surrounding the surrender of Japanese Emperor Hirohito at the end of the second world war.

Fox will play General Bonner Fellers, a Japanese expert tasked with investigating whether the Emperor should be tried and hanged as a war criminal. While this is going on, Fellers tries to relocate a young Japanese woman with whom he fell in love a year earlier.

Yoko Narahashi, Gary Foster, Eugene Nomura and Russ Krasnoff are producing the Fellers Film and Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment political thriller.

Webber is scheduled to begin shooting in January in New Zealand and Japan. CAA represents US rights.
