Rust And Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts is confirmed to star as a tormented Brussels cop in Wasteland, the new feature from young Flemish director Pieter Van Hees.

Actor-director Bouli Lanners will co-star.

The film is being produced by Eurydice Gysel through Brussels-based CCCP.

This will mark the second collaboration between van Hees and Schoenaerts after they worked together on 2008 cult horror film Left Bank.

The 1.8 euro drama is expected to shoot later in the early autumn. Gysel is in Cannes looking to attach a sales company.
