The Taste of Others and Look At Me director returns behind the camera for first time in four years.
Memento Films International has unveiled Agnès Jaoui’s new fairytale-themed picture Under the Rainbow (Au Bout du Conte) at the Rendez-vous with French cinema in Paris.
The film, co-written by Jaoui and long-time collaborator Jean-Pierre Bacri, follows a group of modern day characters in their search for the meaning of life and love through the imagery of traditional fairytales.
It is Jaoui’s fourth film and the director’s first time behind the camera since the 2008 comedy Let it Rain (Parlez-moi de la pluie).
Jean-Philippe Andraca and Christian Bérard of Les Films A4 are producing alongside Alexandre-Mallet Guy of Memento Films as a co-producer.
Memento Films International, which is handling sales, is a presenting the script for the $10m picture to buyers at the Paris Rendez-vous.
The cast for the film, set to start shooting at the beginning of March, includes Jaoui, Bacri, Arthur Dupont, Benjamin Biolay and Didier Sandre.
The film is scheduled for delivery in winter 2013.
