Michael Edelstein has been appointed President, International Television Production at NBC Universal International.
He will report to NBCUI president Peter Smith.
Edelstein takes the post immediately and is relocating from Los Angeles to London.
In the post, he will lead television production and strategic TV content partnerships across all territories outside the US for NBC Universal International. He will also expand local TV productions and launch new business ventures.
Peter Smith said: “Michael has a truly impressive range of experience in TV production and development, with a record of award-winning success on Desperate Housewives. Over his distinguished career, he has built deep expertise and great talent relationships which mark him out as one of TV’s top creative executives. We are delighted that his impeccable skills and instinct will help to drive our ongoing growth plans.”
His remit also includes Carnival Film & TV, the UK indie production company NBCU acquired in 2008.
He will also work closely with WTTV, the TV production joint venture from NBC Universal and Working Title.
