Also joining previously announced Robert De Niro on the cast are Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D’Leo. Luc Besson is schedule to begin shooting this summer.

Malavita recounts the story of a mafia family who struggle to curb their old ways and fit in when they are relocated to France under the witness protection programme. Besson adapted the screenplay from the book Badfellas by Tonino Benacquista. 

Shooting will take place in August at La Cité du Cinéma, site of the new Studios De Paris, as well as Normandy and New York.

Relativity has earmarked a 2013 US release while EuropaCorp will distribute in France and handle international sales.
