UK-based Moviehouse will handle sales for producer Jonathan Sothcott’s new vampire film Dead Cert. It will be released theatrically in 2010.
The film will be directed by Steve Lawson, who previously worked with Sothcott on British film industry mockumentary Just For The Record.
Dead Cert, which will star Craig Fairbrass, Billy Murray and Steven Berkoff, is due to start a four week shoot in London on October 5.
The film will follow a battle between an east London gang and a century-old vampire known as The Wolf over some property. Sothcott described the film as a “modern updating of the Dracula story”.
Meanwhile, Sothcott will begin filming his next project, zombie flick Devil’s Playground, in November. It will also shoot in London and will star Danny Dyer. It will be the debut feature film from Mark McQueen, who has previously worked in TV.
