MPI Media Group and the New Zealand Film Commission have partnered to finance and produce a slate of films for New Zealand’s Lower Budget Feature Films programme.
The goal is to create distinctive features in the NZ$250,000-$500,000 (USD 192,000-385,000) budget range.
When it launches in January the Lower Budget Feature Films scheme will be open to experienced and emerging New Zealand filmmakers alike, without genre restrictions.
MPI will represent worldwide sales rights to the emerging projects at all major film markets.
