A new competition is inviting filmmakers to submit long format films for a chance to win a development and production budget between £120K and £400K.
Sponsored by Film London’s FLAMIN, Portland Green Cultural Projects and London’s Hayward Gallery, Artists’ Long Format Film (ALFF) is looking to help produce and distribute a film, and eventually screen the film at the Hayward Gallery.
The competition is looking for films from any genre that use dance or performance as a major aspect. The commission was inspired by films such as Clio Barnard’s The Arbor and Gillian Wearing’s Self Made which use contemporary performance styles in long format films to critical and mainstream success.
The funds for the selected project will come from the co-producers, as well as funds raised in conjunction with the chosen film. The application process is now open and will close Feb 1.
