Enigmatico Films and Buffalo Gal Pictures have started principal photography on Mad Ship, based on a true story.
Nikolaj Lie Kaas stars as a Norwegian immigrant to the Canadian prairies in the 1920s, who suffers hardship during the Great Depression and has a Quixotic mission to return home. The cast also features Line Verndal, Gil Bellows, Aidan Devine, Rachel Blanchard, and Martha Burns.
David Mortin and Patricia Fogliato wrote the script and David Mortin directs.
The 18-day shoot in Canada is at various locations in Winnipeg and Manitoba. The production already shot for two days in northern Norway.
Producers are Fogliato, Mortin and Liz Jarvis.
Executive producers are Daniel Iron, Phyllis Laing, Knut Skoglund, John G. Carbone and Mark Sanders.
