Los Angeles-based Inner Primary Entertainment has signed Korean star Ha Jeong-woo to star in No Cops With Wedding Rings.
Clay Ayers wrote and Bonn Kim will direct the film, which is the first on Inner Primary’s production slate.
Principal photography will start in January 2012.
Ha, who has starred in hits such as The Yellow Sea and The Chaser, makes his US film debut in the title.
Korea’s Bonn Kim attended Columbia University and has previously directed Babies For Sale.
Producers are Christopher Eberts (Lord of War, Lucky Number Sleven) along with IPE’s Deborah Moore and Terapix.
Producer Christopher Eberts said: “We are thrilled to have a star of Ha Jeong-woo’s caliber attached to No Cops with Wedding Rings. The story, an existential modern-day Butch & Sundance, centered on two bank robbers addicted to their craft who share a hyper awareness of their fleeting mortality, is the perfect fit for such a dynamic and natural actor.”
IPE is founded by Ayers (ex-A Band Apart) and Moore (ex-New Line).
