Bioshock producer Eric McLeod has boarded DevaShard, the fantasy property recently acquired by Vanquish Motion Pictures.
McLeod is joined by David Venghaus who will serve as executive producer. The pair worked together on the final two episodes of Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, when McLeod served as executive producer and Venghaus was camera assistant.
Vanquish’s Jay Douglas and Nav Gupta will produce alongside McLeod and are writing the screenplay with writing partner Heather Kenealy from a treatment by Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux, who will also serving as executive producer.
The story derives from Hong Kong’s Fluid Comics and follows two rival warriors – one a cursed demon, the other blessed with divinity – whose intertwined fates lead them to the brink of a grand war.
The first two books of the series were unveiled at San Diego’s Comic Con and will arrive in American shops in December.
McLeod is currently producing Tony Scott’s Unstoppable and is in pre-production on Bioshock for Universal and servinf as executive producer on Prince Of Persia for Jerry Bruckheimer.
Venghaus just completed assistant director duties on Robert Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol.
