Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot will be called The Amazing Spiderman, the studio revealed this week.

Production is underway in 3D and the studio has set a Jul 3 2012 release date.

Andrew Garfield stars as the websligner alongside love interest Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

Marc Webb is directing from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures. Stan Lee, Kevin Feige and Michael Grill are executive producers.
