Sendhil Ramamurthy, who stars in Gurinder Chadha’s Sundance entry It’s A Wonderful Afterlife, will star in the English-language crime drama Shor (Noise) that is currently shooting in Mumbai.

Ramamurthy, who also stars in the hit television series Heroes, plays an Indian-American trying to start a non-profit enterprise in Mumbai only for his mission to be subverted by mobsters.

US-based Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK co-wrote the screenplay and are directing and producing. Their previous credits include writing, producing and directing Flavors and the 2009 summer Indian hit 99.

Alt Entertainment, the film arm of India’s television software giant Balaji Telefilms, is the production company. Tusshar Kapoor also stars.
