Sanford ‘Sandy’ Lieberson has been presented with an honorary CBE by Culture Minister Ed Vaizey in recognition of his services to the film industry.
Lieberson’s industry career spans six decades. After starting out as an agent Lieberson went on to produce titles including Performance (1970), Stardust (1974), and Mahler (1974).
After roles as president of production at 20th Century Fox, president of MGM International and head of the producing department at the National Film and Television School, Lieberson was appointed inaugural chair of Film London’s board of directors in 2003 and was an important factor in establishing the Microwave Film Fund.
