Recent Screen International Star of Tomorrow Vanessa Kirby [pictured] is set to play Alice Tanner in the epic thriller Labyrinth, adapted from Kate Mosse’s bestseller.
Alice is a woman who inhabits a house in France from an aunt she has never met; she stumbles on an archeological find and has to stop a centuries-old secret from getting into the wrong hands.
The cast also features John Hurt, Sebastian Stan, and Jessica Brown Findlay (a Screen Star of Tomorrow in 2010).
The event TV four-parter starts shooting in October in France and South Africa. Adrian Hodges (My Week With Marilyn) writes the script and Christopher Smith (Black Death) will direct. Tandem Communications and Scott Free Films are producing.
Executive Producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Tim Halkin, Liza Marshall, Rola Bauer, Kate Crowe and Jonas Bauer.
The miniseries is backed by Germany’s Sat.1 and the UK’s Channel 4, Spain’s Quatro, Austria’s ORF and France’s M6. Other partners are NBC Universal Home Entertainment and Germany’s Koch Media.
Kirby is also set to play Estella in the forthcoming BBC TV adaptation of Great Expectations. She is represented by Ken McReddie Associates in the UK and ICM in the US.
