Ethan Hawke, Heather Graham in talks for action-thriller Shoedog.
Ethan Hawke and Heather Graham are in talks with Shoedog producers Michael Delfay, George Pelecanos and executive producer Brandon Baker to board the $10m action-thriller. Stealth Media Group is selling.
Shoedog, adapted by novelist and writer Pelecanos (The Pacific and The Wire) from his cult novel of the same name, is to be directed by John McNaughton (Wild Things). The story follows a drifter who returns to Washington DC after a seventeen year absence to become a driver in a dual liquor store heist.
Michael Delfay said of the project: “We are thrilled to be bringing one of George Pelecanos’s very best creations to the screen. We got the right director to nail the urban realism that Pelecanos is acclaimed for. The film will feel like those gritty 70’s films that largely inspired the novel.”
Among others, Stealth are also shopping rom-com The Giant Mechanical Man and Telefilm Canada production Donovan’s Echo in Toronto.
