Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, whose Intruders gets its world premiere in Toronto on Monday, has come aboard the action property.

Summit and RCR Media Group and co-financing the project, which Neal H Mortiz and Peter Davis will produce alongside Enrique López Lavigne and Belen Atienza. RCR Media Group’s principles Rui Costa Reis and Eliad Josephson will serve as executive producers with Justin Lin.

Summit acquired the remake rights from Davis - Panzer Productions in May 2008 and production is scheduled to begin next spring.

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the screenplay about a immortal Scottish swordsman who must face the last of his kind in an epic battle or survival.
