TLA picks up feature version of Faltz's Weak Species

TLA Releasing has acquired worldwide rights to upcoming genre film Weak Species, writer-director Dan Faltz’s feature version of his award-winning short of the same name.

The feature will be produced by TLA president Derek Curl.

Based on the work of author Dennis Cooper, the film will follow three high school rivals and their dangerous gravitation toward sex and obsession in the hands of a terrifying stranger.

Said Cooper: “Dan Faltz’s gifts as a director and writer are magnificent, and I’m thrilled and honoured that he is devoting his talents to the adaptation of my writings. In his short film he showed a remarkable understanding of my work. I am fully and humbly supportive of his efforts to expand the work he did in Weak Species into a feature film.”

Curl added: “I fell in love with the short film and feel very grateful to be part of bringing the feature version to audiences worldwide.”
