Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital (MRC) will co-finance Seth MacFarlane’s Western comedy A Million Ways To Die In The West.
Universal will distribute the film worldwide and has set a May 30, 2014, release for North America.
MacFarlane is currently in production on the film and directs, produces and stars as a cowardly sheep farmer who discovers courage and must put it to the test when his new girlfriend is threatened. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin, his colleaborators on global smash Ted.
A Million Ways To Die In The West’s all-star cast includes Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi and Neil Patrick Harris.
MacFarlane has also reunited with his Ted producing team Scott Stuber and Jason Clark.
