Cloud Atlas directors Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer presented their vision of the ambitious David Mitchell adaptation to buyers at the Olympia Cinema today [13].
Focus Features CEO James Schamus moderated the event, where the trio of directors said as previously reported that they were in talks with Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving and Ben Whishaw to join Tom Hanks in the multi-timeline fantasy.
Focus Features International is handling international sales on Mitchell’s acclaimed novel, which charts the progress of a soul across six separate existences spanning centuries. The Wachowskis and Tykwer jointly adapted the book and plan to commence shooting in September.
Grant Hill and Stefan Arndt are producing under their new Five Drops company and Philip Lee is serving as executive producer.
