Production companies to adapt Frans Gunnar Bengtsson’s bestseller.
Zentropa and Nordisk Film have teamed up to produce an adaptation of international bestseller The Long Ships from 1945.
Translated into 24 languages, Frans Gunnar Bengtsson’s novel centres on Red Orm, one of the most heroic figures during the 10th century, who embarks on a journey that ends up changing the course of history.
Peter Aalbæk Jensen, CEO of Zentropa, and Sisse Graum Jørgensen produce, with Lone Korslund from Nordisk Film executive producing.
Director and screenplay writer are under negotiation and the producers have started to look for finance.
