Trio partner on new series based on successful novelist Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Danish series about a Danish police force.
Danish production companies Zentropa and Nordisk Film and German ZDF production house Network Movie are partnering on a new series of film adaptations based on successful novel writer Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Danish series about a police force, Department Q.
Adler-Olsen has captured both readers and reviewers throughout the world. Since the publication of the first novel, The Woman in the Cage (2007), Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Department Q-series has been successful in many countries. The rights to The Woman In The Cage have been sold for publication in 21 countries throughout the world including the USA.
Zentropa acquired the film rights to the book series when the second book was released, The Pheasant Killers(2008). The Danish production company has now agreed on a cooperation with German Network Movie and Danish Nordisk Film, and the strong alliance are going to bring the thriller-series from paper to the big screen.
Previously, Network Movie, ZDF Enterprises, ZDF and Nordisk Film have worked together on other successful productions, the latest were Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy and the Swedish blockbuster Snabba Cash.
