Per Fly's animated feature Prop & Berta has been named as the opening film at the first Copenhagen International Children's Film Festival, which runs November 27 - December 2.
The Danish film, which is receiving its world premiere at the event, is also entered for the international competition along with seven other features including Sweden's The Best Summer and Tsatiki as well as Denmark's Help I'm A Fish and Miracle.
The festival will screen some 90 children's films from around the world, but also aim to be a forum for adults working with the genre. A children's jury will choose the winner of the Nordisk Film Foundation's Best BUSTER Film 2000 award, worth $5,700 (DKr50,000), and Politiken's Short Film Prize, worth $1,700 (DKr15,000). An international adult jury will present the BUSTER Grand Prix, along with $5,700 (DKr50,000).
