London-based Protagonist Pictures will be handling international sales on Warp X’s All Tomorrow’s Parties.
The film tells the story of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival and has been made from material contributed by over 200 film-makers, fans and musicians over recent years. It includes footage from Super8, camcorders and mobile phones and has been bought together by co-director John Caoutette and cinematographer Vincent Moon.
The film features performances from bands including Sonic Youth, Belle and Sebastian, Patti Smith and Portishead. It will have a UK multi-platform release on September 21 with one night-only theatrical events, followed by a DVD release and digital download available through Warp Films.
The release pattern will be replicated in major territories across the world, either via Warp Films direct, or working with local distributors. Warp Films controls rights in the USA, Australia & New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Benelux. Protagonist will handle sales for the rest of the world, as well as TV rights across all territories.
Future Cinema, in association with Warp Films and ATP, will present the UK premiere of All Tomorrow’s Parties as part of a live cinema event at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 24.
Aside from Edinburgh, the film has a busy festival schedule, with screenings at SXSW, Karlovy Vary, Finland’s Midnight Sun Festival and Seattle.
