The Pusan International Film Festival's 3rd Asian Film Market will be holding a three-day film financing event, the Asian Film Funds Forum (Oct 3-5), which is being co-hosted by Screen International.

'Participants will be able to obtain the key information on film financing in Asia, in addition to a general understanding of the film funds in the region,' said Lim Ji-yoon, head of marketing & sales at the Asian Film Market.

The Asian Film Funds Forum will first see a panel discussion on Oct 3 at the Paradise Hotel, presenting case studies and examining the present state and prospects of film funding and financing in the region.

The discussion will include Benjamin Waisbren, CEO of Continental Entertainment Capital (US), Hyun-woo Kim, CEO of Boston Investment (Korea), Nansun Shi, managing director of Hong Kong-based Irresistible Films, In-taek Yoo, CEO of Korea's ACTI, and Yasushi Kotani, CEO of Japan's Entertainment Farm.

In addition, presentations will take place Oct 4-5 at the Grand Hotel with top executives from the most representative and influential Asian film funds making individual presentations on how to access financing.

Presenters will include ACTI's In-taek Yoo; Bey Logan, The Weinstein Company's vice president, Asian acquisitions & co-production, for the Asian Film Fund; Irresistible Films director Buddy Marini, and Devesh Chetty, CEO of Singapore-based RGM Entertainment.

Screen is also publishing a special in-depth supplement on the different film financing options in Asia, which will be distributed with the weekly issue of Sep 26 at Pusan as well as to Screen subscribers around the world.

The Asian Film Market runs Oct 3-6 at the Seacloud and Paradise hotels, during the 13th Pusan International Film Festival (Oct 2-10).
