Pyramide International has acquired world rights, excluding Italy, for Venice Days title Don't Think About It (Non pensarci) - a generational comedy by Italian director
Gianni Zanasi.

Pyramide confirmed that sales have been completed in Venice with Hopscotch for Australia, Audiovisual for Greece, and Xenix for Switzerland. A Benelux deal has also been done, and Italian distribution is being discussed now.

The film is billed as a generational comedy starring popular actor Valerio Mastandrea as a failed guitarist who returns to his provincial origins at the age of 40. Don't Think About it has been well received at the Venice Film Festival by both audiences and critics.

Producer Rita Rognoni told ScreenDaily.com the film 'sets the stage for deeper reflections about life in a funny, intelligent context that shows a not-often seen side of Italian life.'

Produced by Pupkin production and ITC Movie with La7 Italian television, the $2.2m (Euros 1.6m) film is the first film foray for La7, a private national channel.

Zanasi's previous films include In the Thick of it (selected by Directors Fortnight in 1995). His 1999 Beside Myself (Fuori di me) was presented at the Turin Film Festival and his film Until Tomorrow (A Domani) was in Venice's official selection, also in 1999.

In 2004, he co-directed La Vita e' breve ma la giornata e' lunghissima (Life is short but the Days are Long) with Lucio Pelligrini. That picture received a special mention for the Digital Film award at the Venice Film Festival that year.
