The 19th Raindance Film Festival in London (Sept 28-Oct 9) will open with the UK premiere of Sundance hit Another Earth.

Mike Cahill’s sci-fi drama, released by Fox Searchlight, stars Brit Marling (who also co-wrote) and William Mapother (Lost).

Raindance festival director Elliot Grove said: “It’s an incredible film made by first-time filmmakers on a limited budget,
and testament to the potential of independent film talent to wow the big studios.”

The full Raindance programme will be announced on Sept 6.
